Abhishek Rijal joins Aizawl FC for I-League 2020-21

Nepal national football player Abhishek Rijal has joined the Aizawl Football Club of India and will participate in the I-League 2020-21 season. Abhishek played for Muhammadan SC in the league qualifiers. However, the club released him after they qualified for the league.

Rijal’s agent Rabindra Chand who is also the brother of Nepal international Rohit Chand said that the club’s contract with him will end in March. Currently, Abhishek Rijal is in a close camp of Nepal national team in Pokhara. With Abhishek Rijal in I-League, there will be 3 Nepali players in the league this season. Nepal number 1 goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong is playing with Punjab FC. Recently Prakash Budathoki signed for another Indian I-League club namely Neroca FC.

Nepal will have no league this season in the country. Some of the players going out of the country to play will surely boost Nepal’s national team. Nepal football team is playing two international matches next month. On March 25 Nepal will play against Chinese Taipei and 5 days later against Australia. Both matches will be played at Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu.
