Nepali international Laken Limbu is all set to make his debut in Indian football after signing with Delhi FC for the upcoming I-League 2024/25 season. Born and raised in Singapore, Laken’s journey to professional football has been anything but ordinary.

Laken’s passion for the game began at the age of 12 when he joined the F-17 Football Academy in Singapore. He later moved to the Australian New Zealand Soccer Academy (ANZA) to hone his skills further. In 2018, Laken made the decision to return to Nepal, where he played in various tournaments.

Delhi FC’s new signing is eagerly awaited by fans, especially after the club’s recent additions, including Bhutanese international Dawa Tshering.

Nepalese players have made a strong impression in Indian football over the years. Arik Bista recently played for Shillong Lajong, while stars like Anjan Bista (Kenkre FC) and Kiran Chemjong (Punjab FC) have also left their mark in the I-League. Kiran Chemjong even helped Punjab FC secure promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL) and competed in India’s top league last season.
