Nepali football star Sabitra Bhandari, famously known as ‘Samba,’ is all set to play her second season with En Avant Guingamp in the French Women’s Football League for the 2024/25 season. Bhandari made history as the first Nepali footballer to play in a European league.
Guingamp has shown great confidence in Sabitra by retaining her for this new season, and the club is determined to make a strong mark in the highly competitive French league, which is regarded as the top women’s league in Europe, according to UEFA rankings.
Sabitra will begin her season on September 22, 2024, with a challenging match against Paris FC. The match holds significant importance, as Bhandari’s team faced a tough 4-0 defeat against Paris FC in the previous season. The head-to-head record between En Avant Guingamp and Paris FC spans 14 matches, with Paris FC winning 8, Guingamp securing 2 victories, and 4 matches ending in a draw.
