Rohit Chand is a famous and respected player for both his club and country. He has become a good example for others because of his hard work and good behavior. He credits his childhood hero, Paolo Maldini, for being a big inspiration to him.
“Maldini was my idol when I was a kid,” he said of the former Italy and AC Milan defender. “And he remains an idol and inspiration to me today. For me, he is more than just one of the best defenders the world has seen. Adding to that, his great personality, leadership, and consistency in his performances were all things I grew up looking to.” Chand said in a FIFA interview.
Rohit Chand and Paolo Maldini played different positions on the field. Rohit started as a defender for Nepal National Team but was later switched to a midfielder by his club, Persija Jakarta. On the other hand, Paolo Maldini played as a defender throughout his career.
Rohit Chand has been very successful with Persija Jakarta. He played a crucial role in leading the team to become champions of Indonesian Liga 1 in 2018. As a result, he was named the best player in the Indonesian League that same year. Rohit was also a key player for Kemayoran Tigers, which won the 2018 Presidential Cup.
Rohit Chand is one of the youngest players to ever play in a senior-level tournament for Nepal. He made his debut at the age of 16 years and 22 days [ 23 March 2009 ] against Palestine in the AFC Challenge Cup Q. He held this record for being the youngest player until it was broken by Bimal Gharti Magar.
