In a disappointing turn of events, Nepal faced a 3-0 defeat against Bahrain in the latest match of the FIFA World Cup-2026 and AFC Asia Cup-2027 qualifiers. The match took place at the Riffa-based National Stadium earlier today.
Bahrain’s strikers Syed Wakar, Abdulla Yusuf, and Komail Al Aswad each scored a goal, securing Bahrain’s lead. This marks Nepal’s fourth consecutive defeat in Group ‘H’.
Previously, Nepal suffered defeats against Bahrain (5-0), UAE (4-0), and Yemen (2-0). With no points from four matches, Nepal currently occupies the bottom spot in the group standings.
UAE leads the group with 12 points, followed by Bahrain in second place with nine points, and Yemen in third with three points.
Nepal’s upcoming matches will be against UAE and Yemen in the remaining qualifiers.
