Nepal Announces Squad for Cedars’ Women’s Football Tournament in Lebanon

Kathmandu, Nepal – The excitement is building for the upcoming Cedars’ Women’s Football Tournament in Beirut, Lebanon. On Wednesday, the head coach of Nepal’s national women’s football team, Rajendra Tamang, announced the final 22-member squad that will compete in the prestigious tournament.

Tournament Details:

  • Dates: July 8-16, 2024
  • Location: Beirut, Lebanon
  • Participating Teams: Nepal, Jordan, Bangladesh, Lebanon (host)

Nepal’s Squad:

  • Goalkeepers: Anjila Tumbapo Subba, Anjana Rana Magar, Usha Nath
  • Defenders: Amrita Jaishi, Gita Rana, Hira Kumari Bhujel, Bimala BK, Nisha Thokar, Puja Rana, Samikshya Ghimire
  • Midfielders: Renuka Nagarkoti, Saru Limbu, Anita Basnet, Sabita Rana Magar, Dipa Shahi, Anita KC, Preeti Rai, Amisha Karki, Bimala Chaudhary
  • Forwards: Sabitra Bhandari, Rekha Poudel, Rashmi Kumari Ghising

Fixtures of Nepal:

  • July 10: Nepal vs. Jordan
  • July 13: Nepal vs. Bangladesh
  • July 16: Nepal vs. Lebanon

Nepal will kick off the tournament on July 10th, facing Jordan in their opening match. They will then take on Bangladesh on July 13th before concluding the last match against host nation Lebanon on July 16th.

The Cedars’ Women’s Football Tournament is a fantastic opportunity for the Nepali women’s team to gain valuable experience against international competition. Nepal will play 7th edition of SAFF Championship on October which will be played in Kathmandu.
