anjan bista highest goal scorers of nepal

Anjan Bista, nearing the record for most goals by a Nepali player, sidelined for remaining FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers due to left knee injury. Currently inactive in national team training camp, having notified ANFA and coaching staff of his unavailability for upcoming matches.

“In light of the significant risk involved, I have made the decision to refrain from participating in the remaining two matches,” stated Anjan in an interview with a recent publication. “However, I am fully committed to returning even stronger for future competitions.”

Nepal’s next scheduled match is against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the 6th of June. Following the encounter with UAE, Nepal will then confront Yemen in their final fixture just five days later. Both matches against UAE and Yemen are slated to take place in neutral venues in Saudi Arabia.

Anjan, who debuted against the Philippines in a friendly match in 2014, now shares the highest goal-scoring record of 13 goals alongside Hari Khadka and Nirajan Rayamajhi. He reached this milestone with his recent goal against Laos last year at Dasarath Stadium. With just one more goal, Anjan will etch his name in history as the highest-scoring individual player in international football for Nepal.
