Nepali Women Footballers Break New Ground in Indian League

In a noteworthy move, Kickstart FC welcomes two more Nepali internationals, Deepa Shahi and Preeti Rai, for the upcoming IWL campaign. Last season, Saru Limbu and Renuka Nagarkoti represented Karnataka-based clubs, with Deepa previously signed for Kickstart but unable to feature due to age restrictions.

Kickstart FC is gearing up for their first IWL match against Hops FC, with a renewed lineup that now includes the talented duo, Deepa Shahi and Preeti Rai. The influx of Nepali players adds an exciting dynamic to the league, showing the growing collaboration between Indian and Nepali women’s football.

Nepali football talents Anjila Subba and Geeta Rana also have leapt into the Indian Women’s League (IWL), joining clubs for the upcoming season. Anjila, the captain of the Nepali Women’s Football team, renews her contract with Sethu FC for the 2023/24 season. Geeta Rana also secures a spot with Sethu FC.
