Nepal Withdraws from Cedars Women’s Tournament Due to Security Concerns

Kathmandu, Nepal – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced the withdrawal of the national women’s team from the upcoming Cedars Women’s International Football Tournament in Beirut, Lebanon. The tournament was scheduled to take place from July 8th to 16th, 2024.

In a statement released on their social media platforms, ANFA cited security concerns for their players and officials as the primary reason for the withdrawal. The decision comes amidst recent developments in Lebanon, which may pose a risk to the team’s well-being.

“Due to recent developments in Lebanon and with the security of our team members and officials as our top priority, we have decided to withdraw from the Cedars Women’s International Tournament,” the statement read.

Despite the setback, ANFA remains committed to providing opportunities for the national women’s team. The statement continued, “ANFA is currently working on arranging a new tournament for the national women’s team. We will share updates with our fans as soon as possible.”

Nepali football fans will be eager to learn about the alternative tournament ANFA is working on to ensure the continued development of the women’s national team.
