Awas Lamichhane: Valencia’s Prodigious Talent Set to Shine for Nepal in SAFF Championship 2023
Spain’s Valencia FC youth product, Awas Lamichhane, has received a call-up to the preliminary squad for the Nepal national team. This is an exciting achievement for the midfielder, as he has made his debut for the national team under the guidance of interim head coach Prabesh Katuwal.

He had previously been called up for the closed camp in preparation for a friendly match against Bangladesh. Although he did not make it into the final 23-man squad for that particular match, his talent and potential have now been recognized, leading to his inclusion in the preliminary squad and subsequent debut for Nepal.
Awas Lamichhane’s impact on domestic football has been notable. He played a crucial role in APF’s triumph in the Aaha Rara Gold Cup last year. Similarly, their success in winning the gold medal in the ninth National Games recently.
It is indeed a proud moment for Awas Lamichhane and the Nepali football community to see a youth product from Valencia FC making strides in the national team. His inclusion and debut are testaments to his dedication, skill, and potential. It is hoped that he will continue to make significant contributions to the team in the future.
