The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Executive Committee held an emergency meeting to address the tragic loss of six academy players in the Sisneri landslide. The heartbreaking incident has shocked the football community, prompting swift action from ANFA.
During the meeting, the committee decided to provide a compensation of Rs 800,000 to each of the families of the deceased players:
- Diwas Baniya
- Priyans Acharya
- Saimon Yonjan
- Anupam Ghalan
- Bikal Regmi
- Aditya Balampakhi

In addition to the compensation, ANFA will seek further support from FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to provide additional financial aid to the grieving families.
To honor the young players, a vigil will be held at the ANFA Complex at 5 pm on Monday. Future school tournaments will be named in memory of the players, ensuring that their legacy lives on within the football community.
A probe committee has also been formed to investigate the incident, with Bikash Narayan Shrestha and Tika Lama, both central members of ANFA, leading the investigation.
This tragic event has left a deep void in Nepalese football, and ANFA is committed to supporting the families affected while ensuring that the necessary steps are taken to prevent such tragedies in the future.
