Sabitra Bhandari Ready for Second Season in French Women’s League

Nepali football sensation Sabitra Bhandari is gearing up for her second season in the French Women’s League 2024/25 season. Bhandari, who joined En Avant Guingamp mid-season last year, is eager to make a bigger impact this time around.

In her debut season, Bhandari managed to score one goal in 10 matches, despite limited playing time. This season, she aims to prove her mettle in the competitive French league. Bhandari, known for her exceptional skills and goal-scoring prowess, is Nepal’s all-time highest goal scorer and one of the country’s top athletes.

En Avant Guingamp’s women’s team has been diligently preparing for the upcoming season under the guidance of Jérôme Bonnet and his staff. The team resumed training three weeks ago and has scheduled five friendly matches to fine-tune their preparation for the championship.

The pre-season matches are as follows:

  • Saturday, August 17: EAG vs. Le Mans (D2) at Fougères (35) at 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 24: EAG vs. U15 EAG at the Akademi at 4 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 31: EAG vs. Saint-Malo (D2) at the Akademi at 4 p.m.
  • Friday, September 6: EAG vs. Le Havre (D1) at Coutances (50) at 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 14: EAG vs. Nantes (D1) at Ploërmel (56) at 4 p.m.

Bhandari, who has already established herself as the best player in the South Asian region, is now focused on making her mark in the French league. Her presence in the team is expected to bring a new dimension to En Avant Guingamp’s performance this season.
