World Cup 2022 & Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers; Team Nepal Close Camp
The closed training program for the Nepal national football team will begin tomorrow 2020 December 13. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will start training for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Qatar and the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers in China.
ANFA has called 58 new and old players to participate in closed camp training. ANFA also invited Aditya Chaudhary, Bimal Gharti Magar, Santosh Tamang, Dinesh Rajbanshi and captain Biraj Maharjan, who were out of the national team for longt time.
The Gorkhali team will be led by acting coach Bal Gopal Maharjan. After the resignation of the then coach, Johan Kalin, the ANFA working committee meeting handed over the coaching responsibilities to Maharjan.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the timetable for the second round of Qatar’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Nepal who have played 5 matches in the qualifiers have lost 4 matches. Nepal’s only win came against Chinese Taipei last year in September 2019. Nepal defeated Chinese Taipei with a score of 2-0. Anjan Bista scored brace for Gorkhali team.
World Cup Qualifiers 2022 ★ Bimal Gharti Magar Back to National Team
According to the new AFC schedule, Nepal will play Chinese Taipei in the remaining second round of the World Cup qualifiers on March 25, 2021. The match against Australia is scheduled for the same stage on March 30. Similarly, Nepal will play against Jordan on June 7. All the matches will be played at Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu.
